The Taylor Hills Compost Facility provides a high-quality soil amendment product for landscapers and gardeners. A quality product is available at competitive pricing and is free for residents of Taylor. This is an excellent opportunity to help the environment by taking yard waste that was typically land filled and converting it into a useful, viable product. The facility is located between Pennsylvania and Eureka roads, east of Telegraph Road. The City Council has approved that each residence in the City of Taylor is entitled to two free dumps yearly at the Taylor Hills Transfer Station/Compost Site. To take advantage of this free dumping, residents must obtain a voucher at the Department of Public Works, 25605 Northline Road at Beech Daly. You must show proof of residency to obtain and use the vouchers. Please telephone (734) 374-1373 for more information. Residents are asked to use compost bags (brown paper bags) along with compost cans for COMPOST ONLY (i.e. grass clippings, leaves). No bags or cans will be accepted with rubbish or debris mixed with compost. This process will insure the quality of finished compost available to Taylor residents. If you have any questions regarding compost or rubbish pick-up please feel free to call The depart Compost site now open Tuesday to Saturday The Taylor Hills Compost Site and Transfer Station is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. On Mondays, the site is closed to the public for operational purposes. City employees perform equipment maintenance as well as grinding, row turning and combining, screening and odor control in the compost area.
