City Councilman Herman "Butch" Ramik was elected to a four-year term in November 2017. For Councilman Ramik, this is a welcome back to the Council, having served during two different terms before leaving due to illness.
A longtime police officer in Taylor and Southfield, he also worked for the Federal Aviation Administration security at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
Dedicated to the cause of military veterans, Butch served in Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was instrumental in the development and operation of the American Warrior Museum, now called the Taylor Veterans Museum.
