The annual Taylor Summer Festival -- the community’s biggest event each year -- kicks off on Thursday (June 22) with plenty of activities aimed at family fun, including a free outdoor movie.
The festival opens at 4 p.m. in Heritage Park and runs until approximately 10 p.m. The carnival will be open, and a family fun day will take place in the Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion.
Game On Sports will be holding different games, and the Michigan Renaissance Festival Players will be in attendance, along with various Disney-type characters. The RenFest players will be holding a wand-making event (while supplies last).
The evening will be capped off at dusk by the movie, Despicable Me.
This is a great opportunity to get the festival weekend off to a good start.
