Wahlburgers is coming to town!
Former rapper, Hollywood movie star and businessman Mark Wahlberg announced last week that his group will be moving into Taylor. The new location will take the place of the Big Boy’s on 21200 Penn, just off Eureka Road in front of Home Depot.

The Wahlburgers model prides itself on quality and good service, at reasonable prices, according to Mayor Rick Sollars. The restaurant’s food fancies itself as a spinoff of the Wahlberg family menu, which helped raise nine children and featured a host of items aside from just burgers.
The menu reflects that philosophy, from “hearty” portions to house specialties, sides, sandwiches, salads, gluten-free items and even a special section for “smahlburgs,” targeting the younger crowd.
Mark Wahlberg will have a personal investment in this location, along with his partner, Nino Cutraro. Mark made the announcement himself during broadcast interviews with the media at his Greektown restaurant earlier this week. Mayor Sollars followed up with an announcement during his own 2017 State of the City Address on Thursday, February 23, at the Lakes of Taylor Golf Course.
The new location is expected to open in June or July.
Wahlburgers is yet another “home run” in the spectacular business development that is happening on Eureka Way! along Eureka Road between Telegraph Road and Allen. The development corridor is considered among Michigan’s most popular.
Wahlburgers is moving in two doors down from the new La-Z-Boy showcase center, which will include not only a new furniture location, but two other to-be-announced tenants. All of that will be directly across the street from Trader’s Point, which will house the new Menards’ location. Menards will break ground this spring. At least two other major retailers will be located on the site, along with other smaller businesses and restaurants as part of the huge 80-plus-acre complex.
The previously demolished Gibraltar Trade Center used to sit on that location.
Other new locations coming to Eureka Road include Bubba’s 33, a family-style sports bar going into the Burlington Square near Art Van and Men’s Warehouse, and BJ Brewhouse and Restaurant, which will be build in the out lots at Southland Center, near Cinemark.
