[ARCHIVED] Mortenview Drive resurfacing to begin on Oct. 3

The City of Taylor has contracted with Al’s Asphalt Paving to resurface Mortenview Drive from Northline Road to Eureka Road.
Work on Mortenview from Northline to Superior is scheduled for October 3-8. Work on Mortenview from Superior to Eureka is scheduled for October 10-15.
The existing asphalt surface will be milled and pulverized, a granular base will be constructed, graded and compacted, and the final road surface will be constructed with two layers of asphalt. This work will be done in stages over a period of approximately one to two weeks, depending on weather.
During this time residents may lose access to driveways and the front or side of their house for short periods of time. The street will be closed to traffic during working hours, except for emergencies and residents, and will be open to allow traffic to continue after working hours. For your own convenience, and so that the work can be performed in a safe and timely manner, please park vehicles in driveways when the contractors are working on your street. Residents may park on side streets during the time that access to the driveway is prohibited.
Trash pick-up will continue on the regularly scheduled day and trash containers should be placed at the edge of the street. On side streets, locate the containers such that they will be away from parked vehicles and be able to be picked up by the waste hauler.
We apologize for the inconvenience this work may cause you. The City and Al’s Asphalt will try to limit the inconvenience as best as possible. Your cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions, contact Greg Mayhew, City Engineer, at 734-374-1473, or by email at gmayhew@ci.taylor.mi.us.
