WATER PROJECT may cause discoloration of tap water

Starting on Monday March 30, the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) will be changing its water meter at Monroe and Wick roads. This is a project estimated to take approximately one week to complete.
During that time frame the City of Taylor will have to isolate its watermain to that meter pit. Due to that isolation residents could experience reversal of flow causing circulation of sediment in the water main. This discoloration is not harmful to users.
When this occurs, the problem can be corrected by letting cold water run approximately five to 15 minutes or until discoloration clears up. We advise that residents refrain from using their washing machines and dishwashers until the discoloration subsides to prevent any possible staining of personal property.
