Civil Filings
The Court will continue to allow filings to be submitted via website upload system or by emailing civil@court23taylormi.gov. Filings that require a filing fee will not be accepted by the Court via website upload system or email. Please note, filings received by the Court will be filed the same or next business day, dependent on the time received and staffing levels. If a document(s) does not meet filing requirements, a court clerk will contact you directly. Adjournment requests for scheduled matters should be submitted in the form of stipulation and order.
Scope of Work
The 23rd District Court handles all landlord-tenant matters, general civil cases with jurisdiction up to $25,000 and small claims cases with jurisdiction up to $7,000. The 23rd District Court has collaborated with the Wayne County Dispute Resolution Center for small claims cases as an effective method of resolving disputes that provides parties with the opportunity to reach mutually satisfactory agreements in a non-adversarial manner. Further information regarding the 23rd District Court’s Mediation Program will be provided to parties or upon request.
